Eagles Soar Into Royal Country

The Wynford Royals and Liberty Benton Eagles have a history when it comes to the playoffs. There was a lot of pride coming along with this game. The atmosphere at the stadium was filled with excitement. In the first quarter, the Eagles scored first giving them an early lead, 7-0. The Eagles scored again in the first quarter with a pass from quarterback Nathan Craft, giving them the lead, 14-0. Liberty Benton added another 7 points giving them a 21-0 lead. Mid-way through the second quarter, the Royals finally add their first 6 points of the year when Hayden Rhodes ran the ball for four yards with the extra point just missing. Going into halftime, the score was 21-6 Liberty Benton. There were no touchdowns in the third quarter, leaving the score at 21-6 heading into the fourth. In the fourth quarter, Liberty Benton intercepts Keaton Teynor’s pass and returns the ball for a touchdown, kick is good. The Eagles led 28-6. This is where the game would end giving the Royals their first loss of the year. The Royals are back in action next Friday at home with Ridgedale.
